What is a worker empire in BDO?

A worker empire is a network of connected nodes worked by lodged workers, producing materials passively while you play or sit AFK. A meaningful one generally needs 200+ contribution points. The rankings above show which worker nodes pay enough to belong in one.

What is the best worker race — goblin, giant, or human?

Goblins work and move fastest but hold the least stamina, so they shine on distant nodes while you are around to feed them. Giants carry more and last longest AFK. Humans sit between the two with the best luck. Each ranking row already names the best worker for that node.

How is a node's silver per day calculated?

Yield per work cycle × cycles per day × market price, minus tax. Cycles come from the node's workload against the worker's work speed, plus travel time both ways — which is why a fast goblin can out-earn a giant on a far node.

How much silver per CP is a good node?

Ordinary worker nodes commonly land around 50k–300k silver per CP per day, and the best farms push well past that. Judge a node by silver per CP including its connection chain, not by raw output — the rankings here count the whole route.

Do workers cost silver to keep?

No salary. Hiring costs 5 energy per roll at a Work Supervisor, and the real spend is contribution points on lodging and nodes. The only upkeep is food: each completed job costs stamina, refilled with beer or cooked meals.

Are trade crates worth it, or should I sell materials on the market?

It depends on current prices: the more a material sells for on the Central Market, the less crating it pays. Crates skip market tax by selling to an NPC with a distance bonus of up to 150%. The crate calculator answers crate-or-market for any route.

What is the max distance bonus for trade crates?

150%. Valencia to Nampo reaches the full bonus, Grána to Nampo pays about 121%, and Valencia to Grána about 114%. The desert buff requirement was removed in 2023, so any long route works.
